Distributing wedding cards is an extremely tedious task. First on, you have to drink a lot of Coke. As in, a lot of pesticide liquid. That too, which is endorsed by the six-fingered freak who likes to call himself Hrithik Roshan.
Second on, you have to answer a lot of stupid questions.
Q: So, your daughter's getting married?"
A: "No, we're playing dollhouse and was wondering if you'd like to join in"
Q: "So, when is the wedding?"
A: "I'm really sorry I wasted a card on you when you can't even read English!"
Q: "So, we'd have to go to Jalandhar, so far away?"
A: "No, you can stay here in Delhi and join us over the web broadcast, you jerk!"
Q: "So whose she getting married to?"
A: "We don't know! Do you?"
Q: "Its going to be cold, eh?"
A: "January's predicted to be warm this year, lets hope for the best!"
Q: "Oh, how nice, isn't she really young though?"
A: "We were afraid she'd run away, so better do it ourselves!"
Now, third on, the rulebook says the girl/guy can't go to invite anyone for their own wedding. What nonsense. Why can't I invite some uncle to my own wedding - how can you take that basic right away from me?
And finally, you have to do it. I mean why the heck do you have to print cards and send them to people. Why can't you just call them and threaten their lives if they don't appear for the wedding?
Huh!

heh those are studip questions at time ir-retating.. when someone asks me.. so, you came.. that time it feels like going back and tell them.. no I am going now..
abt wedding card.. well, in early days.. no telephone.. so print cards best way to transfer.. but ofcourse now it needs to be changed.. but what I think is.. when u call up someone.. actually telephone talkies are not making much effect on ppl.. as it gets forgetive easily.. but print cards cant be.. coz u keep it somewhere where ur eyes goes frequently.. and writing on a calendar date or somewhere.. well, the thing is.. wedding needs 2 or 3 days preperation for anyone.. coz they have to check with their schedule and stuffs.. so cards bring them to notice that somone's wedding is there.. and they will check with the date.
and common.. its ur wedding.. u will just call them up and tell them.. no card?? very bad.. actually in early days it was used to written on a plate of silver or gold doesnt remember.. or I think it was tamra patra.. or something.. but its expensive now.. so not used..
and ya like KD says.. scan ur wedding card.. and show us..
hmm abt excitment.. why not?? mere yaar kee shaadi hain. ;)
btwn now check this :D

lol, Dhaval, limeice team? That's a new one..! ;)
That would be pretty much impossible! Wonder how many people would take visiting an online friend's wedding that easily! It seems I'll just have to make up for the loss by looking at the pics you put up Lime! An e-wedding? ;)
Hmm...and about the wedding cards, one should really appreciate the sheer beauty in them. The creativity and art that goes into each one of them them is simply remarkable!

Rohit: Marrying in Hawaii is not a problem, the problem is convincing everyone to come along - you're not willing to come to Jalandhar and speaking of Hawaii? :P Not smart, Rohit!
Prashant: Thrice? Why did your three wives leave you.. or is that too much of a personal question? :P
KD: I was to make a flash version of the card and send it along with the hard copy.. but then dropped the idea.. anyway - will be working on the card anyway because I want to send it to a lot of people over e-mail..so thanks a tonne for the reminder :D
Dhaval: See, you only call close people to your wedding and close people love you enough to remember your wedding date.. just as birthdates. :D So if someone truly cares, they don't need a card as a reminder.. haa maybe it works like a souvenier then its a different thing.
LimeIce team.. wow, I feel like a super-heroine.. now I can fly over traffic and reach my wedding on time.. yeehaaa!

Jalandhar sounds cool :)
And, well the small talk has to be made everywhere! "Oh, you've grown up so much..last i saw u, u were this lil", "Do u rem me?", "So beta, what are u doin these days"(for the 3rd time to the same person in one month!)
Crazy people!

KD: On my engagement party, we gave out Song CD's with all the wedding songs.. and I designed the covers and stuff.. so it looked like a professional thingie. And not one person turned around to say they liked the idea/songs.. or even cared enough to hear it for that matter. The problem with punjabi's nowadays is that technology for them is limited to cellphones and cars, they still can't convince themselves to sit on their own PC's. Hence, no matter how bad I wanted to make the electronic cards, I don't feel like it.. for myself, maybe - but for anyone else, i would reconsider.
Harry: I don't feel like getting used to it :P somehow!
Kushagra: Shall I postpone my marriage so that you can attend? :P But really, its not the best of times for the wedding. My best friend would be having his exams in Pune, which is really disappointing for both of us, coz I would've loved to have him around at my wedding. My cousins would be in the middle of their preboards or terminal exams. I tell you, education will ruin us all!!
Amrita: What kind of answer can you give to 'Do you remember me?!'
I would say, I do.. but I wish I didn't!
You better make some plans to come down girlie, my maid of honour :P
