Studying Love

Few benches before me,
You sit unperterbed,
A tale unknown,
A fact unlearnt.

A numerical to believe,
The numbers do prove,
But we won't equate,
The logic isn't true.

This heart is an asset,
Whose value I've lost,
Your glimpse is the profit,
This room has brought.

My eyes find your back,
The statistics can't lie,
Just one look behind,
And another surplus sigh.

My mind rewinds,
To the balcony scene,
Where Romeo meets Juliet,
And their love reveals.

There isn't a software,
That communicates to you,
For your protocol,
Remains ever aloof.

The sharpened pencils,
Dig deep in my heart,
And like erased lines,
Find solace in the past.

A line can be drawn,
Between you and me,
But the compass brings back,
A circle to the regime.

A futile lecture,
A mental dance,
A quiet love,
In a noisy class...

Sooty-ful Beauties

If there's anything that excites India, besides Bollywood and Cricket - it has to be the girls. Especially those who would either bounce off to Bollywood or marry a cricketer.
What to say of those gone by - Rai, Jaitley, Chopra, Dutta and the likes - all of whom have done an excellent job in putting 'item numbers' to shame.
But those to come have a strong bearing to the future of this nation. Could you imagine not having the three good-looking girls sharing the stage with Shahrukh in the coming days. The thought is almost terrifying.
Almost.
So when Miss India-World Lakshmi Pandit is allegated to have a husband, I would say its extremely lucky for her in more ways than one. I didn't even know who she was, or if she actually looked human before the hysteria. Who even watches the Miss India pagaent anymore?
Correction.
Who, being female, even watches the Miss India pagaent anymore? So it has to be an extremely good publicity stunt. Any kind of publicity is good publicity. Especially if every national daily and news channel is covering it. And covering it well.
Also, I would say its commendable for a woman to be married - and still manage it so well under wraps. Infact, she should be awarded with an even better title just for that. No inch of fat or loss of brains after marriage? Darn her!
So while it all grows on us and leaves us with a bad taste in our mouths, while the actual Miss India misses deparately from the limelight and while the sun goes down and comes back up again - just thank your dear Lord that my board exams are over, and I'm finally back...
