Singapore Hangover

Still suffering from the Singapore hangover. Most of you are now familiar with the fact that Singapore Guy is 'Preet' - my brother.
Anyway, here's something special I did for myself :F

Lime:

I thought I'd post a summary of the techniques used for each work that I post on the blog, so here goes :
The graphic has been made mainly to signify two objects - the blue paper holder and the candy cane. For this purpose, the papersheets have been made by simple photoshop rectangle shapes with drop shadows. The background has been filled red with photoshop snowflakes. The S on the sheets is normal font with very little opacity. Both the objects have been given drop shadows.
The problem faced was the contrasting blue and yellow of the paper holder. So for this purpose an extra layer of red was added on the top with little opacity and blending mode color. That subtled the colors of the holder and the candy and gave them a better merge..

Just in case you were wondering ;)

Preet:

Wow! now I get a BlogPost for myself eh!

That's nice. You're very good at it! lol, at first I thought it was a picture frame. With the red frame and white paper in between. Somehow, I have a great fascination for candy canes. I love its shape and the two colors. Maybe cause we don't get them easily here! :D

How do you get such gorgious fonts? Do they come bundled with photoshop?

What the heck, i tell you gals think a bit too much kiddin
Rohit: I too thought it was a photoframe

Lime:

Preet: Yea, so no more cribbing :P
Rohit: Oops.. photo frame :( Thats a total loss of ten minutes work.. anyway! I guess the explanation above does clarify stuff... I like candy canes myself - man we're such kids ;) I am definitely savoring this one for its sheer beauty!
Kushagra: Kiddin?!?

Sorry :P. But its worth the time, even if it looked like a photo frame. Look at it this way, its the best photo frame at that! :D

Lime:

Rohit: Yea.. I just didnt do the sheets properly - that has to be it...! Anyway thanks :D And nope, its not photoshop fonts - its from the net somewhere!

Lime:
