You catch a glimpse of a girl on a walk. She's the prettiest thing you've ever seen. The pouting lips, the big eyes, the red cheeks, the clear skin - if only she could be yours...
And then you continue on your walk and see another with pouting lips, big eyes, red cheeks and clear skin! Did they come from the same batch that God produced? Nope, my friend, thats the magic of makeup.
A woman came in all shapes in sizes so that beauty could be redefined each time she walked by. However, God forgot that he created men too who unconsciously made beauty stereotypical. So then he sent the Loreal's and Revlon's, the Lakme's and Avon's to make things better.
And you got the lip definers for the pouty lips, the mascaras and kohl's for the magical big eyes, the blusher for the rosy cheeks and the foundation for the clear skin.
And thats how this world became a big cosmetic market...

Gur, are you sure theres no split personality in you? lol. I mean, read the first para and though - Is Gur a guy? haha.
Theres also natural beauty.
We have a couple of poeple who come to college with lots of lipstick, mascara and streaked hair with lipstick often spreading up on their faces, walking as if they own the world with an air of superiority. There are some who go gaga whenever they walk by. We call them bit*ches.

Abhi: LOL - I do have an answer for that. I am quite anti-stereotypical girlie's! The kinds you say you call b*tch*s. Also I like writing from a guys perspective - because I find it very comfortable and simple. A girl thinks with a lot of complexities - a guy thinks very straightforward. I think straightforward :)
Of course there's natural beauty - there was always supposed to be and remain that way. Who said having sharp features is beauty or being very tall is beauty? No one! Girls just assume that guys expect them to look a particular way and follow it blindly. But it was never supposed to be as such. Beauty was to be redefined everytime a girl went by - because every girl was created beautiful in its true meaning.
Alas, we've let some insanity creep in and have reached a whole different level...

I really dont know...what to say on this.....but in short...Girls always look good...:)

Nice food for thought. But hey, its the same in the case of men too. Don't gurls look for tall, dark and handsome men? Their prince charming? That's why god sent 'long loooks', gyms, and hair gels! ha ha, the tables have turned indeed! :P

Haha! Nice one, Gur. If only I could learn the art of makeup..went with my friend once for this seminar on makeup etc and even after that I haven't touched anything. Prefer being in the "I don't care how I look" mode.
Thanks to all the gals who like to doll up the cosmetic industry has become a money spinner. My neighbour, the famous Jamuna Pai who is the skin specialist for all the beauty contest contestants is always jampacked ..and thanks to her clients it's always a pain removing the car!

Abhi: Did you know that Shefali Jariwala from the Kaanta Laga video is an engineering student from SPCE..I think she's in her final year. Luckily my coll doesn't have many of the b*tch category.
made cooler by Amrita on December 15, 2003 11:11 AM
Then you should see some without makeup, Kartik ;)
See Rohit, its like this - girls are not looking for tall, dark and handsome men - period. Nor are they looking for muscles or hunks. But since men think thats what girls are looking for, they tend to manupilate their looks in that way. But its more tragic in the case of girls. I haven't heard many guys say that he's looking for a girl with a slim waist or blonde hair! But since girls think thats what guys are looking for they spend such loads on their figures and appearances...
and the cosmetics market is booming because they exploit that particular feeling in a woman! All those advertisements you see cater to female-male relationships and make millions! Ironic!
I had a similar thing in my grooming classes Amrita. The woman herself was so decked up but the good thing was - she gave nice skincare tips. So even if you don't go for makeup, or occassionally have to - its nice to follow it with some sensible skincare, at least you don't end up looking like a loser when you're without makeup. I anyway don't put makeup unless dead urgent - like shaadi's and stuff - but what bothers me is why do we have to put it!? Is it to make us look prettier - and if it is, why do we need to look any better if we're fine the way we are. Like you say - 'I don't care how I look' - or 'I'm happy the way I look!'

Wow Lime! Never thought of it that way. The art of human psychology, you've mastered it alright! :D
made cooler by Rohit on December 15, 2003 12:09 PM
Well, won't say human psychology - would say consumer psychology... and we should all join the revolution to change it and make it more realistic and practical...

You rightly commented about the human vs consumer phychology thing, but if some gals(boys not an exception) feel that makeup really makes up for their personality than there is nothing wrong in it
PS: That quote of you call it was instinctive, i dont really remember i read it somewhere or someone told it to me

Somebody told me...girls look 4 boys who r caring and not necessarily handsome.

Kushagra: See, if you're doing things for your own happiness - go ahead flood yourself with makeup, but if you're doing it because you're letting someone else convince you its a better attraction technique - then you have distorted ideas in life...
Kartik: I don't know if you're telling me this to get my comments on the same or to advice fellow cube-droppers on pataofying girls :P

Amrita,
yeah, shes in my friend's batch (classes) and their batch starts singing the song whenever shes enters.
Gur,
I need the change my definition of b*tch*s now. lol. Ever thought about writing a novel?
:)
made cooler by Abhi on December 16, 2003 7:36 AM
*need to change
Some guys stare at girls, some just have a look. I have this friend of mine who just decks herself up with lots of make-up (and I mean lots~layers). then whenever someone looks at her, she'll make odd faces - the kind that say, "please don't look at me".
Girls are wierd, atleast some are...
made cooler by Abhi on December 16, 2003 8:29 AM
hey that Shefali Jariwala is in my cousin's college.. in IT Final year.
made cooler by Dhaval Faria on December 16, 2003 8:29 AM
Abhi: As a matter of fact, yep I have considered writing a novel :) Maybe one day! Definitely most girls are weird - in a way that they don't know how to be or how to perceive.. they're too busy following the trends around to realize the trends within.. that makes them more frivolous than weird..!
Dhaval: Everyone's related to her or what? :P
