DJ Aqeel has truly redefined Indian music with his shower of masterpieces upon indo-western music lovers. With many hits to his credit and top parties to his fame, he has truly become one of the best things that happened to the Indian music scene ever.
He returns to his fans via the Don remix of the oldie - 'Main hoo Don'. Disappoitingly, the magic of his remixes fails terribly this time around and even on repeated attempts the music fails to woo the heart. It just falls flat on its face. The choice of oldie perhaps is not effective, as the beats can still be given some good credit.
The video is another story altogether. With his signature 'babes' and Jackie Shroff as 'Don' - it is one of the most unpopular remix videos of all times. Sheer competition from more spicy videos, even if utterly senseless truly takes away the attention it might've got otherwise. No story as such revolving around the video, the airplane set very artificial and strange, Jackie at his Boom-worst and the three girls extremely robotic - it is a disaster on its own.
Aqeel does show up in the video as the pilot but will surely regret it for ages to come. The video comes nowhere near the bliss of 'Keh doo tumhe' or 'Yeh Wada Raha' - both of them highly successful to highlight their respective tracks.
I almost gagged when I saw Jackie. He's old and sere - and definitely not your video guy anymore. Why does he make such appearances is really a good question. The man crowded with Halle Berry and Lara Croft wannabe's is really a very irritating scene.
On the whole the impact of the song and the video is a 1.5/5 - for its sheer lack of originality and bad choice of music.

new album of DJ Aqeel really sucks.. I didnt liked any song in that album.. his first album was nice.. but I liked more of Kaanta Laaga then the Yeh Wada Raha stuff.. well, in music.. in morning I start with a certain song and ends up listening to it whole day.. or till I find any nice song, it can be even a month or like that.. a week ago, I was listening to Kal Ho Na Ho title song, and 2 days b4 came across Mahi ve song.. and was listening to it for a 2 days.. and today came across beautiful song from Chameli - Bhaage Re Man.. listening to it since a morning.. ;) can get crazy on one song and can listen it as many times as one can.. dont get bored..

Hey...I don't know much about that DJ Aqueel history...but I got three words in respect of that album...That Album Sucks....lol.

Lime, Dhaval, Kartik: Cmon guys its not that bad, i really liked the robotic touch given to voices and the video babes... i reaqlly wish i would encounter a few air-hostesses in my next flight

Dhaval: Yep kaanta laga was definitely a better video - it had everyone's attention, whatever way possible - and it did contribute to a great extent to make the song a big success. This one really fails at that. Bhaage re mann is no doubt a great song - also hear Sajna from the same album - rocks!
Kartik: 'You Are Right!' ;) Three words eh!
Kushagra: Its not that bad - hence the 1.5/5 ;) The effects/beats are good like I said, par agar gaane ko nahi suit kar raha - then the whole thing falls flat na!?

Hmm...nothing great about the song..Looks like that indian music market is overflowing with "Old Maal, New Taal" remixes. Everyday I am able to catch a glimpse of a new remix..One that I saw recently was something similar to "Kanta Laga"...but as long as the music is nice..there is no problem in bringing up the old lyrics...but ofcourse...not everytime the girls will be able to make a song HIT.
made cooler by Sarthak on December 12, 2003 7:14 PM
Kartik: Isn't that expensive? How much is you d/l limit?
Sarthak: Of course girls can't make songs hits.. but a good video does make some sort of difference. Maybe thats just my thinking based on my observations of myself ;) If an exceptional song has a pathetic video - I just cant get myself to love it..

For 300 Mb bandwidth per month.... we have to pay rs 1000 per month. For 1GB bandwidth..we have to pay 2000. Speed is same in both the cases. right now im on 300 mb bandwidrh...but as I'm an internet addict....I have already spent 200 Mb in 2 days by downloading tons of videos and trailors of lara croft..lol. So..now I'm gonna switch to 1GB bandwidth. Isn't that cheap?
made cooler by HeartStopper on December 12, 2003 8:26 PM
I pay 1000 for like 64kbps.. and unlimited d/l - my main concern is d/l and unlimited in dsl will probably cost me a lot..
wish everyone had trees with dollars for leaves like you! ;)
made cooler by Lime on December 12, 2003 10:56 PM
Also.. you're paying like 2 bucks per mb.. thats like lets say 10 bucks for one song.. thats not so cheap.. after all! is it?
made cooler by Lime on December 12, 2003 10:57 PM
hey Lime urs and my ISP price almost same.. we got 950rs for 64kbps constant with live dynamic IP and unlimited download and also got 44kbps constant with live dynamic IP and unlimited downloading = 750rs, but I got a deal with the ISP.. and having 288kbps and 64kbps two accounts in 1500rs and unlimited downloading with live IP.. plus I got some hacked accounts also :p ;)
made cooler by Dhaval Faria on December 13, 2003 12:20 AM
Dhaval. Please teach me how you got such a great deal.
I pay 1000 bucks for measly 40kbps for unlimited downloads. I need the unlimited download a/c too cuz my monthly download is in excess of 8Gb :hehe:
made cooler by Abhi on December 13, 2003 8:08 AM
Abhi: well, that great deal is done with something related to me also.. as I am a programmer, so I have developed software for them, and I have to give support to them for that software, so we have adjusted amount with the support and the bandwidth.. heh.. :D
made cooler by Dhaval Faria on December 13, 2003 8:53 AM
Abhi: oh and about the 44kbps in 750rs thats a normal package of our ISP... its not a deal.. but the deal which I have made is with the 288kbps thing...
made cooler by Dhaval Faria on December 13, 2003 8:55 AM
Lime...u may call it expensive but afterall they r giving the speed of 512kbps...but yes...bandwidth is the real thing.

Hi there!
Well Dj Aqueel has been my fav. for the past few months but yes this one was very dissappointing! You know why ? Here's the fact >>
As you know whenever there's some album being made they chalk out around 30-40 songs and then choose 10-20 best of 'em. And then out of these the best 8 make it to the album. But this album doesnt include any newly created song but just has the old rejected songs which they felt might work because..of the fame Aqueel got! Well never mind! Better luck next time! But neways..I added a Jokes section @ my website! Check it out..

I have a strong repulsion from these DJs. They just don't have that appeal which Tiesto the gr8 posesses. But their music is nice. But I hate the old lyrics. Haven't seenthe new video though. I'm still trying to get my mind off The Ketchup Song. It's that kind of song that gets stuck in your head and you tend to sing it again and again till you go CRAZY! I've learned all the spanish lyrics by heart. Yea, what an achievement one must say ;)

Dhaval: So its a different thing for you na, since you have a deal going on. Plus I think it must be a different game down in Delhi compared to Mumbai..
Abhi: What do you d/l in 8gb man? Movies? Kazaa? Kazaa comes with so much spyware - it totally screws my computer.. been taking ghosts everyday for the past week just 'coz of kazaa alone!
*sobs*
Kartik: Yes, its excellent speed, but if you have a limit to follow - what can the speed do? :P Have fun half the month with the speed and pay extra the other half because your limit expires.. dunno how cool is that!?
Shonal: Selection process is crucial I guess, but Aqeel has a magic to make stupid songs sound nice.. Infact at the MTV Lycra Music Awards he did an amazing mix with Biwi No. 1, Jenny from the Block and Crazy in Love all in one song - I think i'll post it on the blog, it rocks!
Rohit: Lucky to stay away from the video, hopefully you don't see it more than just once! I never really liked Ketchup Song much becasue I couldn't do the lyrics :P Damn you for memorizing them! I want to memorize those of this japanese song from Final Fantasy.. *sigh* - I know I cant!

The Ketchup Song was hypnotising. I was probably one of the 1st in the country yto have seen it since it came on MTV fresh. And since the very first time, I got addicted to it. Its like Lucia, Pilar and Lolita were playing bagpipes and I was the mouse, follwing their tune. The cathy beats had me downloading the mp3. And since then, the play count's gone above 100! I'm not kidding. Ad yea, I've posted. Am having my exams, so won't be posting after this one till monday. By the way, there's a spanglish version of the song. Here's how it goes:
"Friday night its party time
feeling ready looking fine
vienedeigorumbeando
With the magic in his eyes
checking every girl in sight
grooving like he does the mambo..."
made cooler by Rohit on December 13, 2003 11:43 AM
Rohit: The way you find the tomato splash hypnotising - the same is the case with Jagjit Singh at my end.. sadly no spanglish versions there!
But i know I appreciate Asereje much more after reading the six lines you posted :D

heh ya maybe deal is different in here and Delhi.. and ya abt that bandwidth thing ur absolutely right.. my friend has got limited downloading thing but got bandwidth unlimted that his PC can handle.. and he ends up with the limit of 1GB in just a 5days if he keeps his net connection on all the time, becasue of dummy packs sent my ISP and PC to keep connection alive and also coz of network thing.. so unlimited thing is much better and also slow speed doesnt matter at that time when u can keep connection on all the time.. but yeah.. more speed more enjoy.. and abt Kazaa you must have tried Kazaa lite its a alternative to Kazaa, and Kazaa lite doesnt have any spyware.. but Kazaa lite development is stop, so its now not working.. but I use Direct Connect from neo-modus.com excellent file sharing software.. more then the Kazaa its having sharing of in Gega, Tera and then Peta PBs.. and also I use Overnet which is good.. but I use this softwares very rarely.. when something got to download, you know what I mean (leak softwares), but in a month, I eat up with around 30-40GB off the internet.. lots of data to be upload on site and download regarding projects and here and there things.. so if I go for limited bandwidth I will really get mad.. heh.. anyways try out Direct Connect and Overnet. oh and also check out bittorrent.

Gur, Dhaval:
I don't use Kazaa, its got lots of spyware. mostly download stuff from the IRC networks or plain old http. IRCs are very very good. Most of the stuff that i download comes in programs/mp3s/music videos/movies etc. (I do have windows2k+office+fireworks liscensed though :D )
I don't download movies much though, have been trying to find Top Gun and Naked Weapon from quite a lot of time. it takes about 2-3 days for a 2 hour flick to download, I just don't seem to have that much patience. ;)
Didn't the Kazaa peope (Sherman networks) pull the plug for K-Lite some weeks ago? Not sure.

Dhaval: I did try direct connect, but there are such long queues to wait - and you need to have a lot of GB's shared to enter most servers. Then the speed also is a little slow... didn't find it very good and left it eventually. Kazaa is much simpler - since it locates multiple sources unlike DC which just relies on one person alone... I used to download a lot before - but ever since Kazaa's started messing with me, I dont have a way out :(
Abhi: IRC is the same problem - one person alone. Also once you get disc from the server u loose your place in the queue.. and the queues are huge! You have to wait multiple hours before transfers start and all that time u cant shut off the machine.. grr! Tell me still - what server & channel do you get your stuff from?
And yep - I heard Kazaa Lite is history!
Amrita: Which one - Halle Berry, Alicia or the other one!? Very liberal people.. down in Mumbai! Here in Delhi, people would blacklist a girl features as such :P

Sorry, just forgot about this post.
Direct Connect, ^^ thanks Dhaval, is pretty good but the speeds are too slow. ~2-3kBps. Yea that can be a problem with IRCs. You can search for files at www.ircspy.com or www.packetnews.com and then click on whichever has got the least queue. (most of the stuff is same and also has same file names so you could download from different servers if you get disconnected and Resume the download.
