Celebrating Christmas

Merry Christmas peeps!
I know its tomorrow, but what the heck - just wanted to be the first one :D
I don't particularly do anything special on christmas. I've quit waiting for Santa baby since long - ever since I realized that he doesn't really exist (or does he?). The realization must've come around the time I realized the tooth fairy doesn't really exist either. I tell you, it breaks little children's hearts to realize the harsh realities of life...
I remember decorating a small tree for perhaps two or three years in a row with the same measly ornaments I had. Once I also put Trolls and steamers all around. Anything to make me feel festive.
I have only once attended a christmas party and I still remember that as one of the best parties I've been to. Honestly speaking, I don't even know the story of the Bible - although I'm really willing to (no offence to anyone in particular). I've often wondered about those appearing all over the papers the night after the celebrations, if they really know what Christmas is all about to the ones closest to the Christian cultures - the ones who sing carols and get together in the true spirit. Do they even sing like them or feel like them as they show off the best of their apparel and diamonds?
I guess we Indians celebrate anything and everything as long as it invites booze and all night-outs...

U r the first one to wish......Christmas always sounds great to me......but in India...its not celebrated like it is celebrated in other countries. But it really nice.........Its like one of my favourite festival.

Lime:

Is it your favorite because it sounds so great? :P Cmon.. what makes it so special to you anyway - is there really something you do related even remotely to christmas on the 25th.. or just for kicks?

Merry Chrsitmas to you Gur... well well well, that reminds me of my days @ Christ The King College (my school),though i m not an christian, i participated in many X-Mas plays and celebartions and still love to sing carols, and who can forget singing Duets with Saint Francis Convent gals and flirting with them and then the Games Sir dressed as Santa and visitng pals and teachers...Whew AM I GETTING CARRIED AWAY... Yes i m... well the reason is i m going back to my hometown Jhansi tomorow and will join x-mas celebration at my school, see ya post x-mas... and ya Jingle Bells all the way

Ceck out my newly updated website @ www.geek4tech.com, its half done and a lot is to be completed but still wanted it to be up before x-mas

Lime:

Kushagra: Sounds beautiful (pun intended) ;) Flirting - that can perhaps be a great way to celebrate Christmas.. I am sure Jesus would agree.. hehe.. Have loads of fun back home and hurry back soon - we'll all miss you loads.. On my way to your site now!

Christmas is my fav too. Because all of our festivals have lost that feeling of warmth. Bursting crackers or being drrenched with colours is not how I define celebrations.

Christmas is diffferent. It has a lot of warmth and feelings relatwd to it. There's so much in the stories like grinch, christmas carol and the whole st. nicholas thing. And especially the tree and their carols are so much more melodious and fun to sing than Indian bhajans during Diwali. Christmas can't be imagined without snow, which is such a fascination for me.

But yeah, the response has been decreasing. And I too am getting bored of the usual stuff year after year. Christmas used to be so much more fun watching x-mas related cartoons all day long on cartoon network untill 3 yrs back, when it was handed over to India, and we now have toon tamasha instead of how the grinch stole christmas or, the Trolls.

No, I don't do much on xmas myself, exept beautifully decorate my room and the tree, and from now on, even my website! Even take part in my school's x-mas functions and sing carols. What else can we do. I'm not a christian, but I value it the same. Ah, why am I sayign all this for crying out loud...am just feeling more and ore sad and depressed as time nears christmas eve...even I don't know why.

well, if u take my example.. dont celebrate x'mas.. but happy with it.. coz get holidays :D, and abt the celebrating in India, dont no much.. but I think Christans in India must be celebrating it really.. anyways same 2 u.. :D

Lime:

Rohit: Relax man.. I don't see the cause for getting all depressed about Christmas if its supposed to bring you so much cheer - seems like my intentions have turned the table. But I do think its wrong to compare Bhajans and Carols - if you have spiritual beliefs none of them are fun, they're both your expression to God - so can't relate God and fun.. just like you can't put mustard and jam together.. (hmm.. weird example, I know!). I have left cartoons since long.. but I know what you mean - the hindi CN has spoilt the whole flavour of cartoon watching - pathetic!
Dhaval: Holidays :P Seems fair enough to celebrate Christmas for that reason!

Merry Christmas to you all, Well X-Mas is a beautiful festival, I think it's a very quiet and nice thing, No AIR pollution, No dangerous colors (HOLI) and all. Infact I havent' celebrated christmas with much vigour YET! But this time I am planning to celebrate it the BIG WAY, a trip to shimla maybe. Well, Indian have the tedency to celebrate anything they can go ahead with, We are quiet cheery ain't we? :P
Although I would love to flirt on the day, but the rules in chd. Scares me away, Last time my friend was caugh on the bases of EVE TEASING on the chrismtas day.... :P I ain't planning something like that :D

MERRY CHRISTMAS AGAIN

Lime:

Sarthak: Ironic eh? Eve-teasing on Christmas eve.. ah well! Guys! They can be caught doing that any day of the year.. regardless of occasions ;) Okay maybe I'm being stereotypical.. but what the heck..
Shimla sounds too friggin' cold.. aren't you feeling enough chill already? What do you want to do? Freeze?! Rohit would agree - considering the guy's been superlazy because of cold lately.
Ah well, don't know about the other Indians.. but cheer? Welcome to the club.. it all spreads from right here...

lol, "The freezing Lemon" club is more like it! ;) That name makes no sense actually. Woooo, it is getting cooler by the day, no need to go to Simla Sarthak, wake up at 4 in the morning and have a cold bath, then run down the street with no jackets or sweaters, you'll find Simla all around u! :P

And Lime, I read about you asking Dhaval bout msg plus!. Well I had it about 2 months ago. It can be a fascination for a while but kater on its just an extra load on your hard disk. The features like boss protection, and multi-colored text are attractive, but they look exciting for the time being. You can close all the open chat windows with a single combination of keys and that messenger icon in the system tray changes. But if the conversation becomes too long while you're chatting, then it slows down your computer's perfomance. But it's fine really. And has an uninstaller included. Try it out, what have you gotta loose? ;)

Hmm...Intresting idea. Although I have never tried it, but surely looks like a nice way to celebrate christmas, Hopefully cops doesn't takes it as MORNING TEASE :D. Hey what's up with this 'Frizzing Lime club' u people opening a club?

S_Surdie:

Merry X-mas ye all. I am out for a XMax Eve party now.

Gur.....I do a lot of things related to Christmas on 25th.......but I dont know what made u think about kicks?....I think something is wrong. Or may be my visit to this blog is not liked. So no probs with that.....I wont come here and u can delete this comment of mine.....Merry Xmas to u.

Lime:

Rohit: I can almost imagine Sarthak running around without warmies - people would probably consider him a saint if he makes it alive in the end ;) Delhi is freezing..! Went out today and could not stop shivering despite all the woollens mum forced on me.. Ah well - as Amrita Arora vulgarly puts it - 'dilli ki sardeeeee'!
About MSN plus (thanks for getting back to me on that!) - I checked its license agreement which wishes for me to install around 8-9 applications like toolbars, default pages etc in order to make the software work. I'll go insane uninstalling all the extra unwanted components, so I've decided to skip - plus the original MSN is not so bad in itself :) As if I chat!
Sarthak: No clubs man, just pure christmas fun - pulling each other's leg and hoping the other one doesn't take it seriously like our dear Kartik here, who seems to have taken some light-hearted fun to his heart...
Kartik: Nope, you have me all wrong. Lemme repeat - ALL wrong.. What I asked in the post originally was, that we all celebrate christmas, but in our desi way - do we even reach the kind of experience that those who truly celebrate christmas in the way it is supposed to be celebrated..? And since u agreed on that and said its your favorite festival, I just went ahead and asked - why is it so special if it just sounds great to u - since you didn't mention what you do on the particular occassion. and the phrase 'just for kicks' is another for 'just like that'.
So clarifying, it comes across like this - DO you like christmas because you do something special, or just like that?
;) See, it was that simple.. and God knows what you conjured in your mind.. Chill down :D And sorry, for the misunderstanding.. hope I'm forgiven..

Lime:

S_Surdie: Thanks - and same to ya.. Here's hoping you have a blast!

OOOPS.....sorry...Lime ....... misundertstanding .........but actually.....that comment was not only because of that misunderstanding......there were many reasons behind.......actually.....somehow dont mind this.....but I have been getting an impression that u r being rude.....dont mind...but I had to say that someday......anyways...forget it....just a misunderstanding.........sorry...:)

Merry X mas to all.I still remember the day when the Santa first came home (twas a neighbhour)Nothing beats the childlike joy one feels when the Santa Claus comes.Truly Xmas is great..

Chill! People...it's christmas...U will have lots of time later for Misunderstandings :P

Here is my part of wishing christmas to you all

http://www.sarthak.net/seasons/chris.htm

Excellent Sarthak.. now just ur blog needs to get working.. :D

S_Surdie:

The Party was good - a nicely dressed Santa - I envy the guy - all the chicks were in his lap for a pic - wish I would have gone in that costume :p - good food - loved that turkey - and wine - love it - and the music made it all much to worth it - and who said its 'Cold' in Chandigarh? Merry XMas all once again! - Its 25th now - officially

Surdie: It's cold in chandigarh

I also got a card ....not made by me....but worth watching.... http://www.koolkartik.com/xmascard.swf

S_Surdie:

Sarthak: After I have half a bottle of Scotch in me - its 'hot' when I say it's 'hot' and its 'cold' when I say its 'cold'. And now, let me say it again, its not 'Cold' in Chandigarh.

I wasn't comparing bhajans and carols Lime, just the two festivals, and what makes xmas special to me. Of course, the two are worlds apart, and languages too! :)

Lime:

Kartik: Its the way I talk - I often portray myself as 'rude', but please don't mind it - ignore it next time you feel I am getting rude, I don't do it intentionally - believe me :D
Linus: Its time like these when one wishes to be around little ones just to recall own's happiness in a similar age... very true about Christmas being great in that sense..
Sarthak: Berry Cute! And I agree with Dhaval, u need to get working on the blog man..!
S_Surdie: I went for the party today - the DJ totally rocked.. nothing christmassy about it - except for pure unadultrated fun! Great to know you had a blast too :D Dunno about Chd, down in Delhi, its freeeezing!
Rohit: World's apart - but still unite man and God.. how truly rejuvinating :D

S_Surdie:

Good to know you enjoyed the party, Well it is always cold in CHD, but when you have some fine Scotch - you don't feel the cold - I just got back from another X-Mas party, loved every bit of it.

Lime:

S_Surdie: Seems like someone really swung the floors on Christmas eh - have similar plans for New Years, I guess?

S_Surdie:

You bet Lime, always need an excuse to get wasted.
