Its Friendship's Day!

First and foremost - A very Happy Friendship's Day to everyone kind enough to visit this sour little blog each day and chill it with your generous ice cubes. We're friends without considering our differences, without hoping any of us is perfect and without assuming that we would ever meet. We're friends because we laugh, share and believe each day of our lives and the common bond that holds us together is this terrific place called, the web.
I think a term like 'friendship' is highly under-rated when celebrated, so as to speak of, on the first Sunday of August each year. How many people truly deserve of being called friends? I think friendship is a relationship that makes you smile even years later when you reflect upon it. I don't believe that two people can remain friends forvever. I think its a filmi concept.
Like mom said today, with passing age the meaning of friends change. I think its wrong to anticipate the change in your friends only because your expectations from them have undergone a transformation. Maybe today I am looking for a friend who can lead and guide me right, tomorrow I may expect him/her to stand by my side. A perfect friend and a best friend are both fictitious concepts.
The very reason I woke up this morning was to check the SMS on my mobile and wonder who in the world wakes up at 8 on a Sunday to send an SMS? The rest of the day I made only two calls and received about five. Although, I follow the practice, I don't understand why we 'need' to return a friendship day wish. You consider me as a friend, I am honored, but why am I under a compulsion to express my considering you a friend? I believe - a friend is not someone who calls you up on the first Sunday of August - its someone looks forward to your call each day of the year.
In conclusion, while Abhi may still be on a lookout for a satin ribbon, while I am yet to thank Linus and Sarthak for their wishes - the truth prevails - we're friends, for no matter how frigid or sour life gets, this bond will hold us together...

Happy Friendship's Day to you too Gur.

I totally agree with what you've posted.

Friendship Day has become highly over rated recently...filmi as you say. College started today and luckily we weren't celebrating it with tying ribbons as the seniors were busy with their vivas while the students of the neighbouring colleges were thronging the street with a load of ribbons tied on their arms. When I did follow the practice last year, I wondered when a person I barely knew came and tied me a ribbon. Friendship Day isn't meant to show how many ribbons you've got on your arms. Even if you have a few friends, but longlasting ones that you can treasure forever. You don't need a "special day" to treasure them but each and every moment spent with them.

On another note, which graphic program do you use? I've got the graphic for my next layout almost ready..the "longlasting" one but I can't seem to get it perfect the way I want it. So just needed your opinion.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY

my friendship day also started with SMS bombing.. got lots of SMS.. and phone calls.. dont ask me.. heh.. but well, I am not feeling well, so I just kept phone aside so dont get disturb.. anyways hope to get well in next 2 days.. now I got sinus.. lol.. cant comment also... later..

"Quote Dhaval's saying here again :)"

Well, No SMS for me, And no phone calls, I really did missed my old friends, The new friends in college are barely somewhere near to be called Friends. So the day started out with a lovely ecard from SID, Thanks again SID. and then the rest of the day went by just thinking about "How to make lime's day again :)" and would like to quote lime again " the truth prevails - we're friends, for no matter how frigid or sour life gets, this bond will hold us together...
"

PS: I am still waiting for a feedback about the search engine thing, It would really help me.

And lime I know salman told it to you in "Maine Pyaar Kiya" but here it comes again "No thanking stuff exist in friendship :)"

OOps, Replace LIME with GUGU in the comment above.

Lime:

Amrita: Exactly, I don't understand the competitive spirit when it comes down to whose got the maximum love on his/her arm? At the end of the day, when you're knee deep in trouble, are the ribbons going to lift you out or the people who actually care? Glad I could find similar thoughts whooshing from your end :)
I use Photoshop 7.0 mainly, tell me - (all excited) how can I be of service madame?

Dhaval: This is crazy, your health is taking a major setback and its just not acceptable. Please get well real damn soon, and next time you're commenting here, you should be perfectly alright :)

Sarthak: Don't worry - the ones who truly care will soon be the most visible out of all your acquaintances. Hope you're having a blast in college - regardless of the company. So much 'quoting' - kuch original ho jae?

And a very Happy Friendship's Day to everyone once again - thanks for your wishes :D

Friendship is something very special. As of friendship day , I don't see anything wrong in it if ppl choose to . But if your idea of friendship is calling up once a year , then you have a serious problem at hand

Lime:

Linus: Nothing's 'wrong' about celebrating friendships' day - the concept is highly over-rated. Why is friendship measured in the number of ribbons on your arms or the number of greeting cards in your backpack? Thats the question. If you have someone special enough to be called a friend, tie a ribbon all year round - that can be perhaps an apt celebration.

abhi:

we're friends, for no matter how frigid or sour life gets, this bond will hold us together... exactly!
chill yaar. its just some fun at college. a quarter of the people i tied to were strangers but some have become good friends.

Lime:

I'm glad the ritual has done you good enough to find you some friends Abhi :D

Well to start off, i stumbled on this like 15 min back as i wanted to make some money for my organisation on this day, therefore thought will do some research!!
You know i manage a leading night club in mumbai, and money matters to them, and my career to me.. who can blame me, i am like all of you!!
Some of these comments are ancient infact they were posted 2 years back and now any of you read this, there might be difference in your perception.
I got almost 25 sms from loads of people who only call me up on a weekend cause they want a free entry to my place or something like that!!
Ribbons yeah , am doing it, did a sms blast to about 5000 people asking them to come to the most happening party in this part of the world and i can beat my forecast by 100% the next promoyin might not be too far away.
Let all the card companies in the world make some money and also let the youngster to have a reason to party... Why disect a simple economic evnt which harms none...
