Got Skin?

Many years before Sonali Bendre - the picture perfect model-turned-actress - was invited to a show called 'Aap ki Adalat' and the host Rajat Sharma strongly critisized her baring her skin in movies. Despite her defensive stand, he kept rambling relentlessly about the more-than-digestible show of skin.
After much discussion involving the public who equally critiqued her clothing style and her fashion statements, he asked her if she dresses the same way in her normal life.
An irritated Sonali stood up and pointed to her bare midriff, commenting on how 'normal' this was and the public should learn to accept it.
So many years later, as I think of the whole discussion, I find it quite amusing. Bipasha Basu is an actress today for the skin she shows. Lara Dutta has been applauded for her bare-it-all in Andaaz and Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost. Priyanka Chopra shows 'promise' for the same reason. Neha Dhupia is all over the print for her bikini in Qayamat. Isha Koppikar's main source of income is from her item-numbers. The entire lets-remix-old-hits-and-make-new-money industry is drenched in naval-bearing bimbettes.
Movies like Boom and Oops are totally based on the idea of the exhibit of skin. The dusky Sameera Reddy makes all her public appearances with the minimum possible cloth-load. All VJ's strongly support the disappearance of essential clothing. Music videos bring forth the music later, the skin first.
No wonder Rajat Sharma isn't so popular anymore.

I mean to say.. that the this actress wanted publisity to become popular.. so the best way is what u written.. and ya abt rajat sharma.. I used to watch his shows just to see wether any wrestling is gona start in it.. then I can all it Aap Ki Wrestling..(AKW) instead of WWF lol..

I totally agree with you regd the baring of skin..where have all the talented actresses gone? Look at the US..they have Whoopi Goldberg who is an excellant actress and was told that she wouldn't be able to make an entry into Hollywood due to her non-conventional looks..but she made it! And she's done better than her colleagues by hosting the Oscars..we need more like her than the bare-it-all-can't act-PYT's.

Although we've sort of grown to all the baring and nakedness on the big screen and tele...I realised the actual effect sometime back while lunching in McDonald's and the father of 2 kids was pointing to his wife about the obscenities shown in a remix music video. And hearing it from him I realised the actual impact on the masses of society.

The image turned out lovely...if you can plz mail me the PSD as i'll need it for the text effect and deformation...found some lovely icons..*hopefully* I'll be done by this weekend! If I do...I'm breaking a coconut...hehe...
Cya!

Hmm...lots of grammatical mistakes up there....excuse me..you very well know that the head hasn't been working lately...tc.

Dhaval: Publicity comes with other things also, you don't necessarity have to get up and shed for that - we Indians need to have a new frame of mind for appreciating the other things people do to appreciate their art as actors.
Amrita: Can you believe it - a net split again? I am loosing my patience man! I think although the masses really don't go for the skin factor, still, when the wives and kids are not around they do try to see such videos - even if just for the music. All popular Indian actresses are popular, first for their skin, regardless of their acting talents. Did you even see Celina Jaitley in Janasheen/Khel - that woman is in desparate need of clothes - know the name of the charity?
Lemme know when the layout's through, I'll break a coconut here myself! ;)

When baring ur skin is a sure ticket into bollywood , I don't see ppl taking the hard way... But there are a handful of people who dare to er... act

yeah I know that the publicity come through other things also.. but skinnig thing is fastest publicity.. and u know I am also taking its advantage.. no no not in bollywood but in my software.. my next software will be totally skinning u can change button position dynamically where u want and lots of things.. no recompilation nothing.. I also showed it to several ppl and they said.. its cool man.. when u will complete and release it I bet that its gona make a mark in the software industry.. so lets see when I complete.. and hey by the way.. u want to see that software?

and well, now things are working very well here.. I found what was the problem it was not ur host not ur web page not my comp it was my ISP.. more details I will send u in email what exactly problem was.. and yeah my site also started working.. :p

Linus: Of course there are people who are very capable of acting, and showing skin isn't exactly a wrong thing - as long as it has some sort of logic supporting it. When its all skin and no acting - its really a bad show!
Dhaval: The entire thing sounds very interesting - whats the software about? Mail me here. The problem might have been from your ISP but I am facing major problems on other ends also.
