What if we could get our thoughts copyrighted? What if we had the power to limit our ideas to our brains and anyone else who would think of the same, even if originally, could be sued. Even killed.
Almost like I came up with a storyline somewhere in my thoughts - Aliens attack Earth and cause massive destruction, only in the end it is discovered they are not extra-terrestrial beings but few terrorists trying to destroy the world disguised as aliens(just an example!). Now my brainwaves automatically send this idea to some sort of satellite device where it is registered and copyrighted under my name.
Tomorrow, you think of the same thing. Your brainwaves send the thoughts to the satellite from where you get some sort of 'Not Authorized To Think' message and you're debarred from thinking about it because I've already thought of it! If you however continue to think about it, you'd be sentenced for life. And if you proceed further to provoke someone else to think about it by communicating the thought - you'd be hanged.
Now thats an interesting thought that deserves a copyright in itself...

Do we have an Asimov here ??? I wouldn't really agree with what u had to say .. Each man's thoughts are his own .. Though I may have the same ideas as someone else do , mine are unique, why? Coz it's mine

Hey, that's a brilliant idea! Think I'll be the owner of atleast a zillion thoughts in that case! :^B

Linus: True, each man thoughts are his own but what fun it would be knowing that what you think cannot be thought of by someone else - your thoughts are limited to your brain and only you can advance on them. Although that would hamper creativity and growth - its a cool concept in its own.
Prads: I'd be the owner of a gazillion - thank you very much ;)
Abhi: One reason for me to thank God its not implemented yet! :D

Well, Finally the martians have made a foray towards earth, That too through GUGU. Way to go martians...:)
Well, Frankly, I don't agree with the IDEA itself, It destroyes the very meaning of freedom, I mean no one can force u to think other way around, because that IDEA has been copyrighted. Belive me of it was implemented, No world would have exited, Cause we all know, we have the same dumb brain, thinking the same think. The only species i think that would have survied, would be defineatly BE ME, Cauz I miss my brain the most. :)

Sarthak: I agree with the whole deal with freedom of thought - but consider this, if an idea is truly worth of development by another mind, its copyright can be purchased - but why punish the person who originally originated the idea by evolving it into something productible being the second?

cmon Lime, if something like that ever happened, how would we even study at school? Einstien discovered e=mc2. But at school, we're made to think about that, in fact, the whole class is! So would it be fair to hang us all? Ha ha, caught u!
